A little about us…

We are the Schmids! We live in a friendly suburb just outside of Seattle, Washington. We have three active children ages 3, 7, and 9: two boys and a girl, respectively; and two kittens. Like most parents, we’re doing our best to make sure they have a great start and develop good, healthy habits for life. And like most parents with young children, we are just trying to figure out what works best for each child and for our family as a whole. It is a never-ending experiment because once you think you’ve got something figured out, they’ve grown out of that phase, something changes, or a new problem presents itself; hence the name: The Kid Experiment. We hope our experiences, research, and perspectives are helpful to other families who are also just trying to figure out what works best.
