We lived in Queen Anne, a neighborhood in Seattle when I had our first child in 2012. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the area, it’s a hilly neighborhood with uneven, cracked sidewalks. Sometimes there weren’t curb ramps to access the street to cross, and vice-versa. I researched heavily and bought a BOB Stroller. It is the best stroller for active families!
Pros – There are many for the best stroller
The BOB stroller has three large wheels, two in the back, with a pivoting wheel in the front, which you can also lock straight. Its large wheels make it super easy to navigate uneven roads, cracked sidewalks, up/downhill, and dirt roads. A pivoting front wheel makes turning on a dime effortless. The suspension makes for the smoothest ride you can imagine for a stroller.
If you’re a runner or enjoy walking through trails, it’s a must-have! It has a canopy and window so you can check on your little one while on a stroll or run without interruption. There is also a rain cover you can buy for super rainy days. The stroller has a collapsing mechanism that’s really easy to use. It essentially folds in half making storage possible for most small SUVs or mid-size sedans.
Cons – Just a couple
The two cons of the stroller are its size when folded and the cost. Because of its quality material and performance, it doesn’t fold up quite as small as some other types/brands of strollers. It also costs a bit more than most other strollers. In all honesty, I never had an issue with its size. In fact, I bought the double stroller when our second child was born. It makes outings enjoyable with its ease of use and comfort that we used it a lot. If you look at it from a cost-per-use perspective, it’s practically a bargain! I never felt inclined to look at other options. They also have great resale value because it is just such a high-quality piece of equipment.
