Let me start by saying, “I hate cleaning.” But, I do love the way it looks when the floors are clean enough to eat off of – especially in the kitchen and dining room. We’ve got three kids and I do a lot of cooking, so there’s plenty of eating off of the floor. I used to tell the kids not to do that, or that it was only okay after the cleaners had recently been there. But we lost our cleaners this summer, and because I’m not currently bringing in an income, I decided to fill this gap. So I invested in some new tools. The Shark Genius Steam Mop is the only way to clean!
Pros
- It utilizes reusable/washable pads and water – better for the environment.
- The cleaning solution is water converted into steam – also better for the enviroment and safe for kids and animals.
- Saves on space – it’s fairly compact and you don’t need to store cleaning solutions for it.
- Economical – I think this might be disputable as it does cost more than a regular mop, but you don’t have to pay for cleaning solutions.
- Easy to use.
One thing to note here is that I like to vacuum the entire house before I pull the floor shark out. There are tools that do both vacuum and steam, but I also love my vacuum, so I really don’t need to duplicate it. In my experience, tools and equipment that are multifunctional don’t work as well as those that specialize.
Cons
- It doesn’t also vacuum – see note above.
- It is not cordless.
In conclusion, I love the Shark Genius Steam Mop. I can clean more frequently because it is easy to. I no longer feel like a bad parent when my kids pick up food they drop on the floor and eat it. Whether you clean or have cleaners, it’s a great piece of equipment to have because it’s an easy way to clean green.
